Bario Solar Power Project Completed - June 2005
Hi all.
It took some time for us to post our report, but here it is. We're happy to say we've completed our solar power project aimed at providing sustainable electricity to run the Telecentre in Bario, Malaysia, for the rural highland Kelabit community who use it for education, tourism, communication and many other things. We completed the project a month after we went to Berlin in May 2005 for the Mondialogo Symposium, which was a fantastic event (thank you DC and UNESCO for organizing ).
We've attached some materials which we've published, so if you have some time please have a read. Hope you like the photos as they are worth more than 1,000 words sometimes.
Also very happy to see this competition coming back in 2007 - important to keep young people inspired and support all the ideas and energetic people out there.
